The Local Government Unit of Matungao, through the Rural Health Unit and in partnership with Amai Pakpak Medical Center, successfully conducted a blood donation drive on September 17, 2025, at Poblacion, Matungao, Lanao del Norte.⁣

This meaningful activity was held in celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Civil Service Commission, highlighting the spirit of public service and volunteerism within the community.⁣

A total of 31 bags of blood were collected during the event, thanks to the generosity and support of volunteer donors. The collected blood will contribute significantly to saving lives and supporting patients in need.⁣

The LGU of Matungao extends its heartfelt gratitude to all donors, volunteers, and partners who made the event a success.

PMNP Tranche 2 Internal Verification Conducted in LGU Matungao

The PMNP Regional LGU-Mobilization and Technical Assistance Team (RLGU-MobTAT) conducted the Performance-Based Grant (PBG) Tranche 2 Internal Verification for LGU Matungao, one of the target municipalities under the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP), on September 12, 2025, at the SB Conference Hall, Matungao, Lanao del Norte.

The purpose of the internal verification is to assess whether the LGU has met the necessary conditions and requirements for the release of Tranche 2 of the Performance-Based Grants. The process included household visits to beneficiaries, aligning with PMNP Information System compliance protocols.

This verification ensures that the LGU is on track with its implementation of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions during the critical First 1,000 Days.

LGU Matungao extends their gratitude to the RLGU MobTAT for their unwavering support, technical assistance, and guidance during the conduct of the PMNP Tranche 2 Internal Verification. Their efforts have been instrumental in helping the LGU ensure compliance and readiness for the release of the second tranche of the Performance-Based Grant under the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project.

The Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team (PNET) of Lanao del Norte evaluated the performance of Matungao, Lanao del Norte and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO), Mr. Evan Jhon B. Miscala. PMNP Nutrition Officer (NO) III Kate Marie A. Perales and NO II Patrick John D. Gonzales of National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region X assisted the PNET during the said evaluation.

LDN PNET started the desk review for the Local Government Unit (LGU) performance and MNAO Miscala’s documents for CY 2024. Development Management Officer (DMO) IV Alana B. Pala, Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Aminodin D. Pamanay, PMNP-Regional Project Management Office (RPMO) X and RHU personnel were also present.

Close-door interview with MNAO Miscala was spearheaded by the PNET, followed by the consensus of scores. NO II Gonzales led the team with the presentation of the initial results and recommendations per dimension area to Matungao Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC).

PNET provided inputs for improvement and suggestions to improve nutrition program implementation and pledged to conduct MELLPI Pro next year in various municipalities in the province.

In celebration of the National Nutrition Month, the Local Government Unit of Matungao (Progresibong Matungao) headed by Mayor Jaber M. Azis, MD and Vice Mayor Aisha Mangotara-Azis through the Municipal Health Office under Aminodin D. Pamanay, MD hold activities for the Nutrition Month celebration at Azis Training Center, Matungao, Lanao del Norte today, July 31, 2025.

Mayor Jaber delivered a comprehensive opening highlighting the importance of healthy eating habits and balanced nutrition, emphasizing the Municipal Health Office sustained efforts to enhance community well-being.

The event featured the distribution of nutritious food packs to children and a vegetable cooking contest, showcasing the local government dedication to healthy eating.

The collaborative efforts of the local government, the Municipal Health Office, and the enthusiastic participation of residents made this nutrition day celebration a memorable and impactful event for the Municipality of Matungao.

NTP contact tracing at Brgy. Somiorang, Matungao, Lanao del Norte

July 30, 2025-The RHU-Matungao conducted contact tracing of household and closed contacts of TB patients enrolled in our iDOTS facility at Barangay Somiorang. This aims to identify possible TB exposure, ensure early detection, and prevent further transmission.

We also conducted an IEC session on TB awareness, TB screening and provided Tuberculin Skin Testing (TST) to eligible contacts.

Thank you to the community for your active participation in our goal of a TB-free Matungao.

The Community Volunteer Workers (CVWs) of the Municipality of Matungao participated in the 𝐏𝐌𝐍𝐏 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 held at De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, on July 24–25, 2025.⁣

The Household Convergence Scorecard aims to collect data on available local services related to health and nutrition, food security, and social services through a mobile application. During the training, participants had the opportunity to perform actual data entry using tablets, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the system and its practical application in the field.⁣
