I’ve been very busy these past two weeks - training our nurses (together with my team) in Geriatrics competency. Since we still lack manpower in the team, it’s important to capacitate healthcare workers in other areas to achieve the geria-centric approach to patient care.

Grateful for the support of the management and for the active participation of the nurses from all clinical areas handling geriatric patients.

We also did a separate training for our ER staff attended by both nurses and ER doctors.

The Bicol Region General Hospital and Geriatric Medical Center celebrated the Elderly Filipino Week Celebration last Oct 1-7, 2025.

The activities were spearheaded by the Geriatric Core Team under my leadership.

Sharing some pictures of the culminating activity - our first ever pageant for the older population entitled Gintong Ganda at Giting.

Thankful to the support of the BRGHGMC management, to the generous donations of our doctors, LGU officials, private individuals and businesses and of course to the senior community of Cabusao, Sipocot, Pamplona and Pasacao!

BRGHGMC Transition of Care Program got 2nd place in the Gelia Castillo Award for Research in Social Innovations in Health 2024.

Congratulations to the Geriatric Section and to the RHU/LGU of Sipocot. Thank you to the management of BRGHGMC, its Public Health Unit, OSM and to the doctors and nurses who worked hard to create and support this program.

Excited to partner with DOST and UP Manila in enhancing this program for the benefit of the older population.

Thank you to the ExeCom, to our Public Health Unit especially to Ma’am Ching Agripa and to the support of all the division heads and employees!
