D.O. 198-18 refers to Department Order No. 198-18, which implements R.A. 11058. The Department Order was issued on December 7, 2018, by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to serve as the implementing rules and regulations for the country's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards.

It is required by law. Fines and penalties for not having a safety officer vary by industry, but some common violations and penalties include:
