LOCAL NEWS: Wala pay naitala nga kumpirmadong kaso sa Pertussis o whooping cough dinhi sa Ormoc City base pa sa datos gikan sa Ormoc City Health niadtong Lunes, Abril 1, 2024.

Sa pakighinabi sa Ormoc News and Updates, si Dr. Sarah Hermoso, ang labaw sa City Health, miingon sab nga sa pagkakarun walay available nga bakuna batok sa sakit nga Pertussis tungod wala pay miabot nga alokasyon gikan sa DOH.

Apan duna silay masterlist sa mga bata nga angay hatagan sa maong bakuna panahon nga muabot ang alokasyon para sa Ormoc City.

Aduna sab mga midwives sa matag district health center nga mupahigayon ug immunization sa mga bata inig abot sa mga bakuna.

Nagpahinumdum si Dr. Hermoso sa mga ginikanan nga importante nga ma-check up dayon sa doktor ang ilang mga anak kung pila na kaadlaw na nga gi-ubo aron malikayan ang kumplikasyon - hilabi na kung maghutoy ug ubo, maglisod ug hinga, ug manlagom ang bata inig ubo.

Ang Pertussis o Whooping Cough, usa ka vaccine-preventable disease, makatakod nga bacterial infection mao nga pwede ra matambalan gamit ang antibiotic.

Delikado ug makamatay ang sakit nga Pertussis labi na sa mga bata nga wala pa mabakunahi batok sa sakit.

Mipasalig naman si Dr. Hermoso nga duna silay igong stocks sa antibiotic nga tambal enkaso i-resita kini sa doctor — libre ang mga tambal gikan sa Ormoc City Health.

Adunay sab mga naka-assign nga doctor sa unom (6) ka mga district health centers sa Ormoc: Mejia, Curva, Ipil, Valencia, San Pablo, ug Linao.

Dugang pa, kinahanglan sab ug muagi ug confirmatory test ang pasyente usa pa makupirma nga pertussis ang sakit kay dunay laing mga sakit nga ubo ang sintomas sama sa pneumonia.

Samtang gi-awhag ni Dr. Hermoso ang mga tawo nga dunay ubo, sipon, ug hilanat nga kung mahimo ug nga mag isolate, mag bed rest, mag-hygiene, ug bantayan ang ensaktong pamaagi sa pag-ubo nga dili makatakod sa uban - hilabi na ug naay bata sa inyong panimalay.
