Myth: The finding of no ganglion cells in a re**al biopsy equals Hirschsprung disease.

Reality: Human beings have a normal aganglionic zone near the a**s, therefore, a biopsy done too low may not find ganglion cells and that does not mean that the patient has Hirschsprung disease.

Tethered Cord happens in 25% of patients born with an anore**al malformation.
Normally, the spinal cord should be floating freely inside the spinal canal, and the conus medularis should end above L2. When it is below L2, and it is attached to the bone and other surrounding tissues, we call it tethered cord.
Having tethered cord seems to influence more the urinary tract than the gastrointestinal tract.

The sacral ratio should be calculated with an antero-posterior and lateral radiograph of the sacrum for every patient born with Anore**al Malformation.
The first line is made in the direction of the sacrum. Lane A is in the top of the iliac crest, lane B in the sacroiliac junction, and lane C in the last bone of the sacrum. The sacral ratio is calculated by dividing the distance between lane B and C, by the distance between A and B.
The sacral ratio is a very good predictor for future f***l incontinence, when the value found is below 0.4.
