We are filled with joy and gratitude as we witness the growing strength of our Temple and Family History Work in Tayug Ward.

We give heartfelt thanks to our beloved TFHW team. Your dedication, consistency, and deep love for the work and for the Lord are a great blessing. You are not only helping others connect with their ancestors — you are helping to fulfill prophecy and bring salvation to our brothers and sisters outside of the veil.

As we continue this sacred work, we remember the promised blessings from prophets and scripture:

“Hearts shall turn to the fathers... and the earth will be smitten with a curse unless this work is done” (Malachi 4:5–6, D&C 2).
“Your children shall be protected. Your homes shall be strengthened. Your testimony shall deepen. And your joy shall increase.” — President Russell M. Nelson

To all who engage in this divine work: the heavens are smiling upon you. As we unite families across generations, we are also being united more deeply with the Lord.

Let us press forward, with hearts turned and hands ready.🙏😊😇

"A Name Found, A Heart Healed"

Maria had always been curious about her ancestors. As a convert to the Church, she often felt a spiritual nudge to learn more about her roots but didn’t know where to start. One Sunday, her ward held a Family History class, and she decided to attend.

With the help of a family history consultant, she began to explore records from her home country, the Philippines. After weeks of searching, she discovered a great-grandmother named Rosa who had passed away in the 1940s. As she read the faded documents, Maria felt an overwhelming sense of connection. She knew Rosa was waiting.

With tears in her eyes, Maria prepared Rosa’s name for the temple. Months later, she traveled to the Manila Philippines Temple with her husband to perform the ordinances on Rosa’s behalf. As the work was completed, Maria felt an undeniable warmth and peace — a witness that Rosa had accepted the ordinances.

But the blessings didn’t stop there.

Maria's testimony deepened, her marriage grew stronger, and her teenage children, inspired by her story, began their own family history research. One night, her daughter said, “Mom, I feel like we’re not alone anymore. Our family is bigger than we thought.”

Through the sacred work of the temple, Maria not only helped redeem the dead — she healed the living. Rosa’s legacy now lives on, not just in records, but in the hearts of her posterity.

Story Time!

The Spirit That Connected Generations

Emily loved visiting her grandmother’s old house in Idaho.
It was filled with black-and-white photos, handwritten journals,
and heirlooms that whispered stories from long ago.

But as Emily grew busier—with school, work, and her church calling—
those visits happened less and less.
Still, the memories stayed in her heart.

One Sunday during General Conference,
Emily listened carefully as Elder Dale G. Renlund spoke:
“When we gather our family histories and go to the temple on behalf of our ancestors,
God fulfills promised blessings simultaneously on both sides of the veil.”

Those words settled deep inside her.
She realized that family history wasn’t just a nice hobby—
It was a holy work.

The next weekend, Emily returned to her grandmother’s house.
Now it belonged to her parents, but the attic still held treasures.

There, in a dusty corner, she found a box labeled:
“Great-Grandma Mary – Letters and Records.”
Inside were old letters, a birth certificate,
and the story of a woman missing from their family tree.

Emily carefully added Mary’s name into FamilySearch.
She prepared the temple ordinances,
knowing that heaven was watching.

In the temple, Emily felt something sacred.
As she performed the baptism and confirmation for Mary,
a peaceful joy filled her soul—
a joy that seemed to echo through generations.

Later, Emily shared her experience in sacrament meeting,
quoting President Russell M. Nelson:
“As you do the work for your ancestors and help gather Israel,
they will help you. It’s a divine partnership.”

From then on, Emily made temple and family history work
part of her everyday life.
Her example inspired her whole family.

Together, they turned their hearts to their ancestors—
and felt heaven turn toward them.

The youth of Tayug Ward truly turned their hearts to their ancestors as they served in the temple, fulfilling the promise of Malachi 4:6. Their example reminds us of the joy and blessings that come when we take part in the Lord’s work. Let’s follow their lead and draw closer to our families on both sides of the veil.
