Easy Ways to Give Medicine to Cats

😼 Giving medicine to cats can be tricky, but here are some simple methods:

1. Pills / Capsules

Hide in food: Crush the pill (only if safe – ask your vet first) and mix it with wet food or treats.

Use pill pockets: Special treats designed to hide medicine.

Direct method:

1. Hold your cat’s head gently from above.

2. Tilt the head slightly upward so the mouth opens.

3. Place the pill at the back of the tongue.

4. Close the mouth and gently stroke the throat to encourage swallowing.

2. Liquid Medicine

Use a syringe (without needle).

Insert it from the side of the mouth (not the front).

Sq**rt small amounts slowly so your cat can swallow.

Wrapping your cat in a towel can help prevent scratching.

3. Topical Medicine (drops / ointment)

Usually for fleas or skin issues.

Part the fur on the back of the neck (between head and shoulders).

Apply directly to the skin, not just the fur.

Make sure your cat can’t lick the area.

Extra Tips

Always give a reward after (snack, petting, praise) to make it a positive experience.

Stay calm and quick to reduce stress.
