LOOK: The Environmental Management Bureau MIMAROPA awarded several local government units in the region for their outstanding environmental practices during the 2025 Environmental Summit held at the Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA on November 6-7, 2025.

Selected LGUs received recognitions for their best practices in Marine Litter Action, Composting, Community Eco-Engagement, Alternative Fuel Utilization, Materials Recovery Facility Operation, and Upcycling and Crafts Production.

LOOK: Members of the newly reconstituted MIMAROPA Regional Ecology Center (REC) sign a Memorandum of Agreement swearing their commitment to provide technical expertise, information, training, networking services, and coordination relevant to the implementation of solid waste management in the region.

The EMB MIMAROPA Region, through Regional Director Joe Amil M. Salino, will act as chairperson for the MIMAROPA REC. Other REC members present during the event are DENR MIMAROPA Regional Executive Director Felix S. Mirasol, Jr., Department of Tourism MIMAROPA Regional Director Roberto P. Alabado III, Department of Agriculture Regional Director Atty. Christopher R. BaƱas, SWAPP President Dr. Marlon D. Era, Coalition of Solid Waste Management Providers President Atty. Dwight Ramos, and PARMS President and Executive Director Engr. Jesus Reyes.

Meanwhile, Atty. Petrovich Tamag of DILG MIMAROPA, Jeffrey D. Valera of DOST MIMAROPA, Versuelo R. Garcia III of DTI MIMAROPA, Andrea Mae A. Merced of TESDA MIMAROPA, John Francisco Pontillas of PCSD, Lesele O. Condeza of CHED MIMAROPA, and Liza Marie Dillena of DepEd MIMAROPA represented their respective offices during the MOA signing.

The MOA signing activity was held during the 2025 Environmental Summit at the Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA on November 6.
