EMB MIMAROPA Region, through its provincial counterpart in Romblon conducted a Tactical Self Defense Training on November 26, 2025 at Boac, Marinduque in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

Mr. Randy Jogno of Taekwondo Marinduque Wildcats Province spearheaded the Self Defense Training as part of the EMB MIMAROPA’s commitment to promote women’s safety, empowerment, and awareness on gender-based violence. The instructor ensured hands-on practice, allowing participants to experience guided application of the technique taught.

The session covered essential self-defense principles and techniques designed to enhance personal safety and boost confidence in responding to potential threats. The training aims to focus on self-defense as a means to maintain peace and security and learn to protect oneself against the unscrupulous elements of society.

The Self Defense Training is in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children commemorated every November 25 – December 12.

EMB MIMAROPA Region, through its provincial counterpart in Romblon conducted a Tactical Self Defense Training on November 25, 2025 at EMS-Romblon, Tirol Street, Brgy. Poblacion, Looc, Romblon in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

Mr. Nestor Yap, Senior Instructor of PTF Odiongan Romblon Chapter together with his assistant Mr. Emer Fesarillo led the Self Defense Training as part of the Office’s commitment to promote women’s safety, empowerment, and awareness on gender-based violence.

The session covered essential self-defense principles and techniques designed to enhance personal safety and boost confidence in responding to potential threats. Topics and demonstrations included:

β€’ Basic stance, positioning, and situational awareness
β€’ Defensive movements against common physical attacks
β€’ Practical responses to threats involving knife assaults
β€’ Basic disarming and escape techniques applicable even in situations involving fi****ms
β€’ Proper mindset and preventive strategies to avoid escalation of violence

Both instructors ensured hands-on demonstration, allowing participants to experience guided application of the technique taught.

The training successfully raised awareness on the importance of self-protection and reinforced EMS Romblon’s commitment to supporting initiatives that advocates for women’s rights, safety, and empowerment.

The Environmental Management Bureau MIMAROPA Region (EMB MIMAROPA) spearheaded the Tactical Self Defense Training to all EMB MIMAROPA personnel on November 24, 2025 at 43rd Floor, Trium Square, 2183 Sen Gil J. Puyat Ave., cor. Leveriza St., Brgy. 37, Pasay City.

Mr. Jess Ian Garcia, Graduate 3 Civilian Instructor of International Krav Maga Federation Philippines led the training to teach men and women how to defend themselves during life-threatening circumstances. The training started by teaching two major stances, prevention and defense against circular and straight attacks. He also gave a drill on how to be released against choke pushing backwards and how to escape against choke while lying down.

The training aims to focus on self-defense as a means to maintain peace and security and learn to protect oneself against the unscrupulous elements of society. Participants learned threat neutralization, simultaneous defensive and offensive maneuvers and tactics.

The Krav Maga System was developed in Israel for the Israeli Defense Forces. It is a noncompetitive self-defense system the key principle of which is to finish threat or attack as quickly as possible and therefore all attacks are aimed towards the most vulnerable parts of the body like eyes, neck, groin, and knees.

The Self Defense Training is in celebration of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children commemorated every November 25 – December 12.

Moreover, the Field Offices from PEMU-Occidental Mindoro, PEMU-Oriental Mindoro, and EMS-Romblon conducts a simultaneous Self Defense Training on November 25. Meanwhile, EMS-Marinduque conducts their Self Defense Training on November 26.
