✨ Your First TVS Ultrasound: What to Expect in Early Pregnancy ✨

At BABYBOND ULTRASOUND, we know how exciting (and sometimes nerve-wracking) the first scan can be. A transva**nal ultrasound (TVS) is the most accurate way to confirm pregnancy in the earliest weeks. Here’s what you can expect during your journey:

🔹 At 5 Weeks
• We usually see the gestational sac (the very first sign of pregnancy inside the uterus).
• Sometimes, a small yolk sac may also be visible.
• It may still be too early to see the embryo or heartbeat — so don’t worry, this is normal.

🔹 At 6 Weeks
• The yolk sac is clearer, and the tiny embryo may start to appear.
• In some cases, we can already detect a flickering heartbeat, depending on your baby’s development.

🔹 At 7 Weeks Onwards
• We can usually confirm fetal heartbeat and viability.
• The embryo is more visible, and we can measure the crown-rump length (CRL) to estimate your baby’s age.
• You may even see your baby’s first movements soon after. 💓

💡 Preparation Tips Before Your First TVS Scan
• No need for a full bladder — an empty bladder actually makes the scan clearer.
• Expect a gentle, safe procedure done by our OB sonologists.
• Bring your partner or loved one if you’d like to share this special first glimpse.

🌸 Every pregnancy develops at its own pace. Don’t be discouraged if not everything is visible right away — your baby is growing, and sometimes another scan a week later makes all the difference.
