Not the powerful, but the Christlike, will be welcomed first.

In today’s world, many chase influence, power, politics, and positions as if these guarantee honor and success. Some believe that being well-connected or holding authority is enough to secure their place—not only in society, but even before God. Yet in Luke 13:22–30, Jesus reminds us that the narrow door does not open to titles or worldly strength. It opens only to those who live with humility, integrity, and love.

The danger of relying on power is that it blinds us into thinking we are already “first.” But Christ tells us that many who are first now will be last, and the last will be first. It is not the politicians, the influential, or the wealthy who automatically inherit the Kingdom—it is those who reflect the heart of Christ in service, mercy, and justice.

Our true measure, then, is not how high we rise in position, but how deeply we live in imitation of Jesus. For in the end, power fades, but Christlike love endures.
