ICYMI: The La Salle Filipiniana Dance Company (LSFDC) won 2nd place at the 28th International Folk Dance Festival “Folk Harbor,” held in Poland on July 4.

Marking LSFDC’s first European competition, they showcased Filipino culture through traditional rural dances such as Maglalatik, Binasuan, and Tinikling.

“The audience may not have known the backstory, but through our performance… we poured our passion into every movement, letting the audience feel our culture beyond words,” LSFDC member Ma. Grazeanna Denzon stated in an interview.

She also furthered that the experience made her realize the unifying power of dance, allowing strangers to connect and break barriers.

Cultural Arts Office (CAO) Coordinator Joel Refuerzo hailed the win as a milestone, reaffirming LSFDC’s commitment to promoting Filipino heritage on the global stage.

Notably, the Philippines is the only Southeast Asian country to participate in this year’s festival.

𝓢𝓹𝓸𝓽𝓽𝓮𝓭: 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐬 🐆✨

It is with pride and joy that we officially welcome the new members of the Lasallian Pointes N’ Flexes Dance Company!

From their starting days as trainees to their undeniable growth as a probationary member, they have shown grit and determination to fuel their passion for dancing. It has been a long journey filled with hardships and challenges to get to where they are, but this is just the start of a greater adventure ahead — an exciting opportunity for them to grow not just as a performer but as a student-leader that will inspire the future generations.

Their growth would not have been possible without the constant love and support of our LPNFDC family: the members and alumni, our CAO Coordinator, Sir Joel Refuerzo, our Artistic Director, Teacher Monica Abiena, and the families and friends who stood by them through everything. Your guidance has been instrumental in shaping this batch into the promising artists they are today.

Congratulations and welcome to the family, Batch 31!
