[MENTAL HEALTH UPDATE]🫶🏻
PANGANTUCAN, BUKIDNON – Pangantucan continues to strengthen its commitment to mental health within schools and the community through a series of capacity-building activities held on November 5–7 at Kimanait National High School and November 27–28 at the Barangay Bacusanon Covered Court. The sessions covered Psychological First Aid (PFA), Substance Abuse Prevention, Peer Support Group Facilitation, and the official launch of the You’re Not Alone (YONA) Project.
The training started with a discussion on mhGAP priority conditions by Dr. Roston G. Garces, Municipal Health Officer, followed by the PFA training led by Resource Speaker Marecil Olandria Alfeche, RGC. Joecel Mae D. Peligones, RPm, facilitated the Peer Support Group training for teachers, parents, guidance designates, and student leaders, while Angelie L. Beroy, Nurse II / Mental Health Coordinator, led the Substance Abuse Prevention session and the launch of the YONA Project.
The YONA Project was warmly welcomed by participants, recognizing its vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and accessible network for students dealing with stress and emotional challenges.
The training was made possible through the active participation of all attendees, the dedication of the Mental Health Team of RHU Pangantucan, and the steadfast support of the LGU Pangantucan (Municipality of Pangantucan, Bukidnon), led by Hon. Manolito G. Garces, Municipal Mayor, and Hon. Edward E. Hernandez, Municipal Vice-Mayor.
Through these collective efforts, Pangantucan continues to build a community where mental health is understood, supported, and prioritized. By working hand in hand, the municipality strengthens a culture of care that ensures every individual feels valued, heard, and supported. Together, Pangantucan strives to create a safer, healthier, and more compassionate community for all. 💙✨
