This is alarming, and proper awareness on safe s*x should be given to adolescents, young adults, and couples. We are seeing newborns also infected with HIV here in Palawan, and this is supposedly preventable if only the pregnant mom knows her HIV status prior to delivery, and a prophylaxis medications is given to the baby within 6hours of birth. HIV screening is offered for free at city health, government health centers.

I have seen a lot of babies and school age children getting this illness this month of January, here are some facts regarding Hand, Foot & Mouth disease. It can be confused with Chickenpox or Bulutong-tubig and differ in level of infectiousness. So if moms and guardians are not too sure if you should let your children go back to school with this

Vaccine save lives! 🩼

We are recently handling a 1month old child afflicted with meningococcemia, often fatal and debilitating, another vaccine preventable illness. Though the child lives, but had to undergo amputation of several toes. Gangrene of his earlobe and digits of the toes already set in, within 2 days of his illness marked with fever & rashes. Please say a quick prayer for him, today is his operation at Ospital ng Palawan. Posted at the end, some of the actual pictures of the child.
