PMMG Coop Hospital Kicks Off Nutrition Month 2025 with Cooking and Quiz Competitions
In celebration of Nutrition Month 2025, PMMG Cooperative Hospital officially opened the festivities on July 16, 2025, at the hospital lobby with the theme "Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin."
The opening program was marked by dynamic and engaging activities aimed at promoting awareness on food and nutrition security among hospital staff. Among the event's highlights were the Cooking Challenge and the Nutrition Quiz Bee, which showcased both culinary creativity and knowledge on nutrition.
The Cooking Challenge featured six entries from various hospital departments, including PT and Rehab, Business Office, Nursing Services Department, and Mini Bank. Participants impressed the judges with their nutritious and well-presented dishes. Emerging victorious were Ms. Arvie Panes and Mr. Ken Leonora from the PT and Rehab Department, who wowed the panel with their creative, economical, and nutritious winning recipe.
Meanwhile, the Nutrition Quiz Bee tested the participants’ understanding of food, health, and nutrition-related topics. Ten contestants represented departments such as Nursing Services, PhilHealth and Billing, Mini Bank, Social Service, and the Finance and Administration Office. After a series of three challenging rounds, Ms. Eurica Diaz of the Nursing Services Department was declared the champion.
The successful opening program set the tone for a month-long celebration of nutrition, health, and wellness, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to support and be one with the Nation in advocating for accessible and adequate nutrition for all.
