Solidor, RN conducted a Supportive Supervision Monitoring activity in Barangay Sinayawan today, February 7, 2025 reinforcing the city's commitment to improving maternal and child health services at the grassroots level.

The activity focused on assessing the implementation of maternal and child healthcare programs, ensuring that local health workers are equipped with the necessary resources, knowledge, and skills to provide quality care. Key areas of evaluation included prenatal and postnatal care, immunization coverage, nutrition programs, and the availability of essential maternal and child health supplies.

CHO Conducts Prenatal Assessment and Consultation

The City Health Office continues its commitment to maternal and child health by conducting a Prenatal Assessment and Consultation to 54 expectant mothers today, February 6, 2025.This initiative aims to ensure safe pregnancies, promote healthy childbirth, and prevent complications through early medical intervention.

During the event, healthcare professionals provided comprehensive prenatal checkups and laboratory screenings. Pregnant mothers also received essential health education on proper prenatal care, UTI and Anemia in Pregnancy, Importance of Exclusive Breastfeeding and Routine Immunization and STI/HIV Prevention which was explained and elaborated by Ms. Venadyl F. Cantero, RN, EMT, Health Education and Promotion Officer III.

This initiative is part of CHO’s ongoing efforts to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates and promote safe motherhood practices in the community. The initiative aimed to ensure a stable blood supply for patients in need, including those undergoing surgeries, trauma cases, and individuals with chronic illnesses. With the support of medical professionals and volunteers, the event was carried out smoothly, following strict health and safety protocols to safeguard both donors and recipients.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD), in collaboration with the City Health Office (CHO) and the City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO), successfully conducted a Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) session for soon-to-wed couples on February 5, 2025, at Bahay Pag-asa, CSWD Office, Valencia City.

The PMOC aimed to educate and prepare couples for a healthy and legally sound marriage by providing essential guidance on family planning, health and wellness, marriage laws, and responsible parenthood. Participants received expert advice from healthcare professionals, legal advisors, and social workers, ensuring they are well-informed before entering married life.

Venadyl F. Cantero, RN, EMT, Health Education and Promotion Officer III highlighted the importance of reproductive health and family planning in building a strong and stable family. Marriage is not just about commitment but also about making informed decisions that affect your health and future family. This program helps couples start their journey with the right knowledge and support.

Meanwhile, representatives from the CCRO discussed the legal aspects of marriage, emphasizing the importance of proper documentation and civil registration.
