🌿 7 Doctors of Nature

Ang 7 Doctors of Nature ay mga natural na paraan para mapanatili ang malusog na katawan at isipan—libre, simple, pero napaka-powerful kapag consistent.

1️⃣ Araw (Sunlight) ☀️

Ang sikat ng araw ay tumutulong sa katawan gumawa ng Vitamin D na mahalaga sa buto at immune system. Nakakatulong din ito sa mood at energy.
👉 10–20 minutes morning sun (hindi tirik) ay okay na.

2️⃣ Tubig 💧

Whether the Sun is our friend or foe? The debate on this can be perpetual, but we should understand that Sun is vitally vital for the existence of life on the Earth so it cannot be our enemy. There are some concerns regarding the risk of skin cancer and premature ageing on prolonged exposure to sunlight. It becomes less significant when we consider the numerous health benefits; we receive by exposure to sunlight. If we can follow the correct time and duration of sun exposure, we can eliminate this risk and get the optimum benefits of it.

Now let’s see these benefits one by one,

🔹PREVENTS VITAMIN-D DEFICIENCY

Sunlight is a must for the synthesis of Vitamin-D in our body. A majority of vitamin-D necessary for us synthesized from exposure of the skin to the sunlight. Upon exposure of skin to UVB light from the sun rays sets a chemical reaction which results in the synthesis of Vitamin D in its most natural form.

🔹REDUCES RISK OF TYPE-2 DIABETES

Adequate exposure to sunlight is necessary for the synthesis of vitamin D in the human body. Vitamin D plays a vital role in the production and secretion of hormone Insulin from pancreas and metabolism of glucose. There is one more mechanism through which sunlight helps in Keeping our blood pressure levels within normal limits. The exposure of skin to Ultraviolet rays from sunlight releases Nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps in the prevention of insulin resistance; thus, contributes to the prevention of obesity and metabolic syndrome.

It correctly adjusts our circadian rhythm; we feel energetic during the day and feel sleepy during night. It helps in overcoming symptoms of insomnia and improves the quality of sleep.

One of the significant functions of Vitamin D is the maintenance of Calcium levels in our blood within normal limits. It helps in the absorption of calcium present in the food we eat into the blood from intestines. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with reduced absorption of calcium. In chronic condition, calcium levels drop. To compensate for this, the calcium is removed from bones; thus, making them weak and brittle. According to researchers, the bright outdoor sunlight helps in maintaining the correct distance between the lens and retina of a child’s developing eyes. Maintaining the proper distance between lens and retina is necessary for kipping vision in focus. It can’t happen effectively with dim indoor light. As a result, when children spend too much time indoor, their eyes fail to grow correctly. It manifests as an increase in distance between retina and lens, causing far-away objects to look blur, I.e. Develops nearsightedness (Myopia). Thus, spending time outdoors in sunlight is necessary for better eye health.

🔹IMPROVES BRAIN FUNCTION

Skin exposure to the UV rays from sunlight increases the level of specific chemical like urocanic acid. This chemical crosses the barrier between blood and brain cells and enters neurons (Nerve cells). In neurons, it gets metabolically converted to glutamate. Increase in glutamate levels results in increased transmission of impulses between them. This enhanced transmission through neurons results in improved learning and long-term memory and indirectly brain function.

🔸GUIDELINES FOR SAFE EXPOSURE
TO SUNLIGHT

We have already seen the importance of regular exposure to sunlight from the perspective of good health.

Though sunlight is vital for our good health, overexposure to it can have some harmful effects such as Sunburns, Allergy and risk of skin cancers.

But don’t worry! By taking certain precautions while getting out in the sunlight, we can achieve all the health benefits associated with it. At the same time will be able to protect ourselves from these adverse effects.

🔸Let’s see what precaution we should
take:

Limit the direct exposure of skin to sunlight for 10-15 minutes per day.
Fair skin individuals should expose their skin to the direct sunlight for a lesser time as compared to the darker skin individuals.
Morning Sunshine between 8 am to 11 am is ideal.

Avoid direct exposure of skin to sunlight between 12 noon to 4 pm.

Use appropriate sunscreen while venturing out during this period. (12 Noon- 4pm)
To protect eyes, use sunglasses.
To get enough sunlight, exposure of only Hands and face is not enough, exposure of at least the portion of both Arms and Legs along with face is necessary to get the maximum benefit of sunlight.

ANO ANG DIALYSIS❓
Ang dialysis ay isang procedure o proseso kung saan ang mga tungkulin ng bato o kidney, katulad ng pagsasala at paglilinis ng dugo sa katawan ay ginagawa sa isang makina. Sa madaling salita, humahalili ang isang makina sa trabaho ng kidney o bato. Sa hemodialysis ang karaniwang uri ng dialysis, ang makina ay kinakabit sa mga ugat ng dugo o blood vessel.
KANINO GINAGAWA ANG DIALYSIS❓
Ang dialysis ang ginagawa sa mga taong may sakit sa bato o chronic kidney disease na umabot na sa puntong hindi na gumagana ang mga bato. Hindi ito nakakalunas o nakakatanggal ng sakit sa bato, kung kaya’t ito’y dapat ginagawa ng tuloy-tuloy.
GAANO KATAGAL GINAGAWA ANG DIALYSIS❓
Kadalasan, ang isang 'dialysis session' ay tumatagal ng 3 hanggang 4 na oras. Ang pasyente ay karaniwang nakaupo habang ito’y ginagawa. Maaari siyang manood ng TV, magbasa ng libro, matulog, makipagkwentuhan, o gumamit ng cellphone o tablet hbang ang dialysis ay ginagawa. Babantayan lamang ang blood pressure kada 15 o 30 minutes habang ito’y ginagawa.
PAANO PAGHANDAAN ANG DIALYSIS❓
Dapat ay bawasan muna ang protina at potassium sa mga kakainin. Maaaring bawasan muna ang pagkain ng karne, mga beans, saging, maging ang paginom ng gatas. Malaking tulong din ang sapat na pahinga bago ang dialysis.
ANO ANG MAAARING SIDE EFFECTS NG DIALYSIS❓
Bagaman malaki ang naitutulong ng dialysis sa mga pasyenteng may malalalang kaso ng sakit sa bato, hindi pa rin mawawala ang mga posibleng side effects nito sa pasyente. Sa mga pasyenteng sumasailalim sa hemodialysis, ang pinakakaraniwang nararanasan ay ang pagbaba ng presyon ng dugo. May posibilidad din na maimpeksyon ang lugar na tinusok para pag-daluyan ng dugo kung sakaling hindi malinis ang lugar kung saan isasagawa ang dialysis. Maaari ding maranasan ang pangangati ng balat matapos isagawa ang dialysis. May posibilidad din na makaranas ng depresyon at pagiging balisa.

Matapos isagawa ang dialysis, ang pasyente ay kadalasang makararanas ng pagkapagod. Kung kaya’t pinapayuhan ang pasyente na magpahinga ng sapat hanggang sa makabawi ang katawan. Dapat din na panatilihing masigla ang katawan sa pamamagitan ng pagkain ng masusustansyang pagkain, ngunit dapat ay may kontrol sa mga kinakaing protina, potassium at phosphorus.
