To my fellow Financial Advisors/Life Planner/Insurance Agents,
I want to share a story I came across recently β one that truly struck a chord and reminded me of the real weight of what we do.
A financial advisor shared that a friend of his just lost his kumpadre β only 32 years old. He had been in the hospital for nearly two months after suffering a heart attack, fell into a coma, and sadly, passed away just the other day.
What made it more painful was that the two of them were just together last year β jogging, catching up, talking about life. The advisor even brought up insurance and encouraged him to consider getting a small policy, especially because his kids were still young.
His kumpadre said, βMaybe if I meet the right agent and the budget works out, Iβll get one β even a small plan.β
But life had other plans.
And the chance to protect his family came too late.
The advisor couldnβt help but carry the burden of regret β wondering if he couldβve done more, said more, pushed a little harder.
He recalled a post by Sir Ron that said:
"Some people keep thinking and planning to get insurance, only to be overtaken by critical illness before they even act."
And thatβs exactly what happened here.
To all my fellow FAs reading this: please, donβt give up.
Yes, some people are hesitant. Some will ignore you. Others will say, βNot now.β But the truth is β they need you more than they know.
Youβre not just offering a product β youβre offering peace of mind, dignity, and protection for families.
You may never see the impact of every policy you sell, but trust me β itβs there. Youβre making a difference.
So keep going.
Keep planting seeds.
Keep knocking on doors.
One day, theyβll thank you.
One day, their families will understand the value of what youβve done.
I saw this story shared in Pinoy Insurance Talk, and it was a powerful reminder of our mission.
Letβs keep pushing forward β what we do truly matters.
