𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥.

The gate wasn’t fully closed.
Just enough for a curious dog to notice.

He stepped out — slowly at first, then a little farther.
The street looked different.
The smells weren’t familiar.
But he kept going.

Back at home, it didn’t take long to realize he was gone.

Panic set in.
Calls echoed down the street.
Neighbors looked. Streets were checked.
But he was nowhere.

Hours passed.

Somewhere a few blocks away, the dog had stopped running.

Cars passed. People walked by.
He waited… unsure.
