Back in 2010, I applied as a Police Officer 1 at the Health Service of the Philippine National Police. I passed my documentary requirements in September, leaving me with less than a month to prepare for one of the toughest parts of the process โ the Physical Fitness Test.
On September 17, 2010, I stood at the oval of Camp Crame, Quezon City, nervous but determined. Pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, then the run. I gave everything I had. Unfortunately, I failed.
It was painful. Discouraging. But it wasnโt the end.
I tried again in 2014. This time, I passed.
Looking back, I canโt help but think: if I had passed in 2010, I might have already been close to retiring. Life doesnโt always follow our plans, but it teaches us patience and shapes our journey.

Some runs teach you how to breathe. Others teach you how to wait, trust, and believe.
