It’s World Sepsis Day – 13th September 2023
World Sepsis Day is an initiative of the Global Sepsis Alliance that aims to raise sepsis awareness on the 13th of September annually.
Sepsis is a medical emergency and is a leading cause of preventable death and persistent harm in children, with infants and children aged under five at greater risk.
Sepsis can be a difficult diagnosis in children and infants, as many of the symptoms are the same as mild infections, especially in the early stages. Early recognition and treatment of children with sepsis is key. If you are concerned about your child, remember to ask the question, ‘Could it be Sepsis?’
