BIRADS 4B – (according to Google) Moderate suspicion of malignancy (10%-50%).
I had my breast ultrasound on February 22, 2025. This procedure is part of my annual check examination.
The impression on my breast ultrasound was “Subcentimeter irregular isoechoic SOLID MASS with indistinct margins is evident at the 3:00 position of the right breast. Right breast septated cyst at the 10:00 position is noted. Negative ultrasound findings in the left breast. BIRADS Category 4B”.
I was shocked and was really scared upon seeing the result. Since I do this procedure yearly, this was the first time that the impression was a “solid mass” in my right breast. I immediately palpated both of my breasts, but I could not palpate anything probably because the size is small (per result – 1cm from the ni**le measuring 0.6×0.5×0.4 cm).
Next, I messaged Doc Joson and requested for a face-to-face consultation. Luckily, he was able to schedule me on March 6, 2025. I do not want to see other Breast Specialist because Doc Joson has been my doctor since 2007 and I have full confidence and I trusted him for so many years already.
Waiting for the day of my check up with Doc Joson has really impacted my sleep. I became really anxious, scared, restless which has affected my mental health as well.
The day of my check up came. I was really nervous. I did not show the result of my breast ultrasound result yet.
Doc Joson, proceeded with physical exam. While palpating my breasts, he even taught me how to do it myself. Such a compassionate doctor! I felt relieved when he said that there was “no palpable mass”.
I then showed him the results. After seeing it, he again palpated my right breast but still he could not palpate a solid mass. This only proves that Doc Joson aims to be precise on his findings, one the admirable traits of a doctor which I pray that other doctors could emulate.
Doc Joson, doesn’t do “short cut” consultation no matter how many patients he would see. He ensures that when a patient leaves his clinic, the patient is aware of his/her condition.
He advised me to do a repeat breast ultrasound to a different facility for a second opinion. I did as I was advised by Doc Joson – repeat breast ultrasound to a different facility. Lo and behold, the findings – Simple breast cyst, Right. BIRADS Category 2”.
Thankful of the result, I immediately shared the result through messenger with Doc Joson. I am grateful that he entertained by message and responded immediately. I felt that he was happy with the results as well. He advised me to do at least a meticulous monthly BREAST SELF-EXAM, continue to monitor and repeat breast ultrasound as necessary. HAKUNA MATATA.
Take away from this experience – Do not be quick to jump into conclusion. To avoid being emotionally bothered, do not consult Google on your findings. Seek medical advice with a competent, reliable and compassionate doctor and follow what is being recommended.
Thank you, God. Thanks to my family who prayed with me and thank you Doc Joson!
