As Covid-19 cases begin to rise exponentially, so does the expertise of our JRRMMC healthcare workers in managing the deadly effects of the still raging pandemic.

Today, March 22, 2021 marks a historical milestone for the JRRMMC Dialysis Center as they conducted the first ever emergency hemoperfusion in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) for a severe Covid-19 patient. The said initiative is made possible by our Medical Center Chief, Dr. Emmanuel F. Montaña Jr, Chief of Medical Professional Staff, Dr. Wenceslao S. Llauderes and Chief Nurse, Ms. Alicia Naguit-Salamanca.

In the present circumstances, hemoperfusion is one of the considered lifesaving procedure of filtering blood by decreasing level of inflammation and organ dysfunction among critically-ill Covid-19 patients.
