🔩 What is a Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD)?
A TAD is a mini-screw or mini-implant, typically made of titanium.
It is temporarily placed into the bone of the mouth (usually in the gums between teeth or in the palate).
It serves as an anchor to apply forces to move teeth, often in directions that would be hard or impossible with traditional braces or aligners alone.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) is a musculoskeletal condition involving dysfunction or pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), the muscles responsible for jaw movement, and the surrounding structures.

Chief Complaints:
• Neck and shoulder pain
• Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
• Headache

Clinical Findings:
• Malocclusion with midline deviation
• Facial asymmetry
• Signs consistent with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction

Treatment Initiated:
• TMJ splint therapy was started to address occlusal discrepancies, TMJ stabilization, and associated neuromuscular symptoms.

Follow-Up (1 Month Post-Splint Therapy):
Subjective and Clinical Improvements:
• Correction of bite
• Midline deviation resolved
• Facial asymmetry improved (partial correction noted)
• No more headache and frozen shoulder
• No more tinnitus

Treatment Plan:
• Continue splint therapy as needed to maintain improvements.
• After 2 months: Initiate orthodontic treatment to correct alignment, leveling, and occlusion for long-term stabilization and functional harmony.
