𝗡𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗜𝗩/𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦 – 𝗖𝗦𝗖

Discriminatory acts against persons living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) may now be subject to administrative discipline.

This was disclosed yesterday by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as it released the Guidelines on the Investigation and Prosecution of Discrimination Cases against Persons living with HIV.

Issued through CSC Resolution No. 25000399, the guidelines set the processes and procedures for the investigation and prosecution of discriminatory acts and practices committed by government officials and employees against persons living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (PLHIV).

While the risk remains, continued vigilance is essential, as Mpox can still pose a health threat. Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) is a viral disease primarily transmitted through prolonged direct skin-to-skin contact. To help prevent the spread, we strongly advise practicing good skin hygiene and performing regular hand hygiene using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub. People with unexplained rash should keep the affected area covered with clothing or clean, sterile dressing to help prevent possible exposure to others. Individuals exhibiting these symptoms plus, fever, swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches, or fatigue are encouraged to seek early medical consultation.
