Join us for the **Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians (SSND) General Assembly and Election of Officers for Academic Year 2026–2027**. All BSND students from every year level are highly encouraged to attend and take part in this important event. Class representatives are also requested to help ensure the attendance of their respective sections.

The ND Fellowship Night has successfully transpired last November 19, 2025, at the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Auditorium. This event served as the culminating activity of the Third-Year Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) students under the course Food Service System II, in collaboration with the Second-Year BSND students for their Meal Management course.

Under the guidance of Ma’am Lady Winderose V. Oliverio, RND, MBA, the event showcased the students’ skills in event organization, food service operations, and creative program ex*****on. Faculty members of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department (NDD) were also present to support and witness the culmination of the students’ academic efforts.

The celebration likewise welcomed First-Year BSND students as attendees, further strengthening unity and camaraderie across year levels of the ND community. From the opening program to the raffle draw, performances, and culminating segments, the event provided a memorable and enchanting experience for all.

This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to strengthening student competency, promoting collaboration, and nurturing future Nutritionist-Dietitians through meaningful, experiential learning opportunities.

Under the extension program of the School of Technology, the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians (SSND) actively participated in the two-day Project LUNTIAN activity held last November 6–7, 2025, at Lucio Vivero Central School and Sta. Elena Elementary School in Tacloban City.

The two-day activity highlighted the promotion of nutrition and environmental awareness, featuring two lectures—“Healthy Meals and Ingredients” on November 6 and “Gardening Process and Herbal Integration” on November 7 together with a cooking demonstration led by the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department (HTMD) Faculty.

On the first day, one group conducted a nutritional assessment with grade 4-6 pupils measuring height, weight, and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), to emphasize the importance of proper nourishment for growth and development. On the second day, another group collaborated with the parents’ association together with the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians (SSND) partnered with the said schools to establish sustainable gardening, encouraging care for the environment and a sense of shared responsibility. The seedlings used in the gardening activity were provided by the Department of Agriculture.

This initiative shows the School of Technology’s commitment to promoting nutrition, sustainability, and community development, caring for both the mind and the environment for a healthier, greener future.

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖: The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) program is currently holding its 2nd Pinning and White Coat Donning Ceremony at the Miguel Romualdez Auditorium. The program commenced with a Holy Mass and processional featuring the fourth-year BSND students accompanied by their parents and guardians, followed by the entrance of guest speakers and faculty members.

The event officially began with the opening remarks delivered by Associate Professor Lady Winderose V. Oliverio, RND, Head of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department. This was followed by inspirational messages from Dr. Benedicto T. Militante Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Eduardo V. Cabuyao, Head of the Industrial Technology, on behalf of SOT Dean, Dr. Marichu S. Armada. The pinning and donning of the white coats was then facilitated by Ritchelle M. So, RND, a faculty member of the department. The ceremony was formally opened by Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians (RNDs) Divine Mae Leona and Dan Jiv Tiozon, both proud ND alumni, who shared heartfelt messages.

EVSU Students leaders led the Celebration for the World Teachers’ Day with Heartfelt Tributes 🌸

The Supreme Student Government (SSG) and the Council of Leaders led the celebration of World Teachers' Day on October 27 at the EVSU Inner Court to honor the dedication and hard work of of the university's teachers. 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

The activity featured a heartfelt video presentation prepared by different student organizations, reflecting their appreciation and gratitude towards their educators🎥💖. This was followed by an inspiring message from University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, who commended the teachers for their contributions towards learning and nation-building. 🎓🇵🇭

On the other hand, the SSND organization gave a heartwarming surprise to the NDD faculty by giving them flowers🌷. The gesture symbolized love, appreciation, and gratitude towards their teachers. Simple yet meaningful way to express their appreciation for their patience, dedication, and selfless service to the students and to the university.💐✨

𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐒𝐍𝐃 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲!

The BS in Nutrition and Dietetics First Year Students for AY 2025–2026 were officially welcomed into the department during the Freshmen Orientation held last September 10, 2025, at the Maritime Building.

The milestone became even more memorable with the presence of the parents, who proudly accompanied their children as they began a new chapter in their educational path. The program then unfolded with the invocation and hymns, followed by warm greetings from the department head. Freshmen were introduced to the department’s faculty and organizational structure, important university policies, the BSND curriculum, and Republic Act No. 10862 or the “Nutrition and Dietetics Law of 2016.” Sessions also covered dental orientation, guidelines on thesis preparation, and practicum requirements, all designed to guide students through their academic journey.

The event likewise highlighted student involvement as the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians (SSND) presented its revised constitution and by-laws, inducted its new set of officers, and distributed SSND pins as a welcome treat for being new members of the organization.

As one of the program’s highlights, Dr. Benedicto T. Militante, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspirational message that urged the freshmen to face challenges with integrity, service, and excellence. The event ended on a hopeful note, encouraging the BSND freshmen as they take their first steps in EVSU.

As USWAG draws to a close, we're bursting with pride and gratitude! 🎉 A massive congratulations to the School of Technology (SOT) for their incredible performance in the University Student's Welcome Activity and Gathering (USWAG) securing 2nd Runner Up and USWAG Spectacle Award! 📣 Your energy and spirit were absolutely contagious, and you represented SOT with passion and pride. 🥈

On behalf of the BSND community, the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians extends its warmest congratulations to our very own Miss Greyzinthe D. Combis, a third-year BSND student. She gracefully shone and proudly represented the School of Technology along with her partner, Mr. Maynard Geraldo, a BSHM student, during the Mr. and Ms. EVSU 2025 last Tuesday night, September 2, 2025, held at Miguel Romualdez Auditorium.

Ms. Combis gained several special awards, namely Ms. IGP 2025, Ms. Jai Records, and was also chosen as Ms. Chic Zone Salon and Spa. Through your elegance and confidence, you represented not just the beauty, but also the wit and excellence of the School of Technology and the Nutrition and Dietetics Department.
