Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Training Tier 1

This session equips the future leaders of the Philippine Army with essential life-saving skills under the supervision of combat-ready and combat-tested medical service officers and NCOs of the Army General Hospital.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to EXTEND Army General Hospital Services—bringing quality medical support closer to Line Units and, most importantly, to the prestigious Officer Candidate School (OCS).

The training focused on rapid response to preventable deaths, specifically the proper application of tourniquets to control severe bleeding. The training emphasizes that Combat Survival is a Responsibility of every future Army Officer.

Timely and correct intervention significantly improves survivability. Through standardized and continuous training, we ensure our soldiers remain capable, confident, and ready to sustain operations in any high-risk environment.

IN PHOTOS II 1ST QUARTER NSED 2026

The General Hospital, Headquarters Support Group, Philippine Army, under the leadership of COL CAESAR E CANDELARIA MC(GSC), executed the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). With our practice of saving lives for our clientele at the core, we strengthened disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities in the hospital – and deployed our emergency response team for the activity.

The drill tested the readiness of medical staff, administrative personnel, and medical teams, while enhancing coordination for various earthquake scenarios. We practiced safely evacuating patients, responding immediately to emergency situations that arose, and having our response team on standby to deliver timely care to those we serve.

We planned the NSED properly prior to ex*****on in order to assess the readiness of individuals for any eventuality. There were also scenarios our medical team attended to.

As healthcare providers, we go beyond drills: we keep ward emergency supply kits well-stocked, as well as individual go-bag kits for personnel. We also orient our clientele on safety procedures, conduct structural checks of facilities, and train teams to provide continuous care even when power or utilities are disrupted.

These efforts reinforce preparedness and safeguard everyone in our hospital and camp.

Great strides towards a healthier future!

Recently, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted a productive courtesy visit to the Office of the Chief Surgeon, and the General Hospital, Headquarters Headquarters Support Group, Philippine Army.

The discussion was about hospital operations, organizational structures, and shared best practices to enhance inter-service collaboration.
COL CAESAR ALMER E CANDELARIA MC (GSC) the Commanding Officer of, GH,HHSG PA added, Far Forward Medical Practices are the hallmark of Army Medical Services.

This exchange of knowledge will be invaluable as the PCG works towards establishing their own Level 1 general hospital by 2028!

This celebration is a testament to our commitment to an inclusive society where gender equality thrives.
