In partnership with the DOH R02, we brought free HIV education, risk assessment, and self-testing kits directly to the people at the heart of Tuguegarao’s bustling night market.

Together, we aim to break the stigma, raise awareness, and encourage early detection. Our passionate volunteers engaged with the youth and vendors to talk about safer choices, health rights, and support services available.

“ANG RISK AY ANG HINDI PAG-ALAM.”

Ngayon sa Rotonda, Tanza, Tuguegarao City, nagsagawa ang Northern Lights Organization ng isang HIV awareness booth at libreng testing katuwang ang mga masisigasig na volunteers at partners mula sa health sector.

Sa gitna ng kainan at kasiyahan sa Zen’s Foodhub, nagbigay kami ng HIV 101 orientation at libreng screening para sa lahat ng dumaan—dahil naniniwala kami na ang kaalaman ay proteksyon, at ang pag-alam ng status ay isang hakbang sa kaligtasan.

Salamat sa lahat ng tumigil, nakinig, nagtanong, at nagpa-test. Hindi kayo nag-iisa. At sa bawat isa na piniling malaman kaysa manghula—saludo kami sa inyo.

Northern Lights in Action: Advocating for Gender Equality in HIV Prevention

The “Addressing Gender Inequalities in HIV: Prevention Strategies and Advocacy for Change” seminar on January 30-31, 2025, at the UCV Greyhounds Gymnasium was a powerful step toward breaking down barriers in HIV awareness and prevention.

Members of Northern Lights Organization proudly joined the discussion, standing alongside experts like Mr. Guermil S. Tong, RN, MSN, and Mr. Delson Balubar, RN, of Cagayan Valley Medical Center to deepen our understanding of the links between gender, inequality, and HIV transmission.

The seminar reinforced the urgent need for inclusive prevention programs, stronger community support systems, and policies that promote gender equality. But our mission doesn’t stop here—we are committed to turning knowledge into action.

Together, we will continue advocating, educating, and supporting those affected by HIV. Let’s build a future where gender equality and health go hand in hand.
