Our Story
It has been 61 years of medical milestones for Mary Mediatrix Medical Center.
From being a modest clinic in the 1950’s to becoming the most admired and preferred medical center in South Luzon, Mary Mediatrix Medical Center has remained true to its unrelenting passion of providing excellent healthcare services across all its stakeholders.
It all started as a sheer dream of serving the underprivileged. Dr. Vicente L. Magsino, a U.S. trained doctor returned to his homeland to practice medicine in 1958. He converted an old factory to a humble clinic in Lipa. Soon, his unique brand of service and expertise slowly found its way to the hearts of the locals and neighbouring towns in the province. In 1965, the humble clinic evolved to Magsino General Hospital (MGH), a two-storey health facility with 30 beds and specialized services. The increase in patient base and breakthroughs in medicine paved the way for the organization to build a much larger health facility. In July 23, 1994, Mary Mediatrix Medical Center was unveiled to the public replacing the then name, Magsino General Hospital. The center was named after its patron, a loving tribute to our Lady of Lipa, Mary Mediatrix of All Graces. The main building housed 100 beds with advanced diagnostic services and a two-storey medical arts building for physician’s clinics. Mediatrix made state-of-the-art medical procedures and health experts more accessible to patients in this side of the region.
Today, Mary Mediatrix Medical Center is the clear choice for superior yet affordable healthcare from well-trained medical professionals. MMMC is now equipped with 150 beds serving residents of Lipa and other high-growth areas in Batangas, Laguna, Quezon and Mindoro.
