1. It is the QUALITY OF LIFE as a result of deliberate effort to ensure mental and physical health
2. It is an approach to healthcare that aims to prolong life, not to treat a disease

The most important for me is the word "deliberate". This means that doing small things everyday that ensure that I am well in my mind and in my body.

There is no greater source of happiness than helping others. I am a firm believer that I am just a facilitator of spreading the work about .

Focusing on the negative will make you become negative. Think about it. Has there been a day where you were scolded by your boss or the traffic has made you focus on negative thoughts? How did your day go? Did it seem like you were perceived as an irritable colleague in the office?

How about the days when there were good things that happened to you? Did it seem like you were more approachable at work?

To have a healthy wellbeing, there are only 4 simple steps to do it:

1. Eat nourishing foods
2. Sleep at least 6-8 hours a day
3. Move more by exercising or even just walking more
4. Repeat steps 1-3

However simple it may seem to do, it's difficult because we're distracted by tasty food, laziness and prioritizing work over sleep. And I'm speaking from personal experience.

Put yourself on a higher standard. And focus on the negatives of what will happen to you if you don't do the above steps consistently. Once you do this, it will be easier for you to do the steps in order to live a healthier and more energetic life!

Did you know that it's harder to do portion control and calorie counting with packaged foods?

This is because most packaged and processed food are usually not packed in a 1 serving size portion. However, we usually treat 1 packaging (i.e. 1 can of corned beef) as 1 serving and eat it all in one go. This results in overeating for the most of us.

Start eating food without labels. These are the natural food that has not been processed. And it's easier to let go of the calorie counting and portion control because it's a healthier choice and we feel fuller longer. :)

Did you know that diabetes is one of the top 10 causes of death in the Philippines?

Diabetes results from eating too much sugar - and this can be in the form of carbs as well. The Filipino diet is really composed of too much carbs like rice, pandesal etc. which results in higher rates of diabetes.

Always remember that the food you eat today, can either be the best medicine or the slowest poison.

Choose wisely. Eat more vegetables, fruits and whole grain foods to nourish your body better. I've been doing meal plans for the past 7 weeks and eating better has resulted in a more stable and higher level of energy, and I don't crave as much for sugars and fatty foods.

It's going to be hard, but would you rather get/stay overweight and give yourself a hard time?
