𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | In line with the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) for CY 2025, with the theme “KUMIKILOS para sa Kahandaan, Kaligtasan, at Katatagan”.
The Local Government Unit of Basey, led by Hon. Mayor Luz Chu-Ponferrada, through the Basey DRRM Office, headed by Engr. Rowena A. Olfato successfully conducted series of activities to highlight the importance of disaster preparedness, safety, and resilience in communities.
✅Conduct of School-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training (SBDRRMT).
✅ Turn-over of SRR & Communication Equipment to Basey Police Station.
✅ Installation of Radio Communication at Brgy. Canmanila and Basey Police Station.
✅ Installation of Rainew Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge at Brgy. Guirang.
✅ Conduct of Community RC 143 Volunteers for Evacuation Management, First Aide BLS – CPR at Brgy. Iba, Brgy. Anglit and Brgy. Sugca.
✅ Mangrove Planting Activity at Brgy Balud. (The activity was a collaborative effort joined by representatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Basey, Philippine National Police (PNP), Special Action Force (SAF), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), CENRO Sta. Rita, together with the Brgy. Balud Council, SK Council, and local constituents. It was conducted to promote environmental protection and strengthen community resilience against disasters).
National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) celebrated every July in the Philippines. The month serves as a reminder of the Philippines' vulnerability to disasters and the importance of building a resilient nation. It encourages Filipinos to actively participate in building a safer and more resilient community. The activities are designed to enhance awareness, preparedness, and the overall capacity of communities to cope with and recover from disasters.
