It was first named Bataan Optical which was inaugurated in December 1979 It is the 1st Essilor Plant set up in Asia in 1979 and one of the largest Essilor factories worldwide (plants, laboratories, marketing arms, etc.). It was February 19th 1980 when its operation started and it was first named Silor of Bataan Plant in the Philippines, where the first organic lens was produced. And in 1981 the n

ame changed to Bataan Optical Incorporated; then come 1989, Essilor Manufacturing Philippines Incorporated became the final and actual. Now, EMPI is 43 years (and counting…); has produced more than 1B lenses with a wide range and delivers everywhere in the world.
