🌸 Idiopathic Granulomatous Mastitis (IGM) 🌸

✨ A rare but benign (non-cancerous) breast condition
✨ Usually affects young women, often after pregnancy or breastfeeding
✨ Symptoms:
• Painful breast lump
• Redness or swelling
• Pus/abscess or small openings on skin
✨ It often looks like breast cancer but it is NOT cancer
✨ Diagnosis is done with a biopsy ALWAYS
✨ Treated with medicines (steroids, immune drugs), sometimes minor surgery
✨ It can re-occur, so follow-up is important

Early Signs in a Patient with Inflammatory Breast Cancer
Inflammatory breast cancer, often misdiagnosed as mastitis or breast abscess in lactating mothers, is a clinical diagnosis. Dermal lymphatic invasion may be present in less than 75% of cases. cT4d is a stage-III breast cancer, a locally advanced breast cancer that warrants urgent workup and the initiation of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Patients typically present with nodal involvement at the time of presentation. Any delay in treatment may lead to the upstaging of the disease, potentially resulting in metastasis.

Breast Cancer Screening should be started at the age of 40years. This is an International article posted on 30May 2024 issuing the final recommendation statement on breast cancer screening.
Its the most common cancer among females and screening after age of 40 can reduce its risk by 20%.
A humble request to all the ladies out there ! Take care of yourself and get timely screened.
Early detection can save lives.

apply to people who have
● personal history of breast cancer
● very high risk of breast
cancer due to certain genetic markers
● history of high-dose radiation therapy to their chest at a young age
