Boundaries are personal rules or limits that you establish to protect your well-being and maintain healthy relationships.

However, our boundaries should not focus on controlling or dictating the behavior of others (left side). This isn't the purpose of setting boundaries.

Boundaries should focus on your own behavior and what you will or will not tolerate. They are about self-respect and self-care, not about trying to change or control others. On the right side are boundaries that reflect this understanding - they communicate your own needs, preferences, and
limitations without attempting to dictate or control the behavior of others.

You don't need closure or an apology to heal. You need self compassion, self validation, and support from people who truly "get" you. When someone can't apology or own the role they played, they're showing you their emotional capacity. And all you can do is show yourself grace and belief in a better future with more wisdom
Everything you need is within you.
You have more power than you believe.

When we bargain with the future, we produce variants of our future selves, alternative visions of who we could be, and project the real-world outcome.

When we sacrifice, we are bargaining with the future (alternatively: establishing a covenant with the future): we will give up this set of possible selves/possible futures now to propitiate God and ensure success for ourselves and those we value as we move forward.

We offer up something valuable, concretely valuable—self-evidently valuable—here and now, taking the chance that if we do so the future will make itself manifest in a more positive manner That is quite the risk, given the self-evident current value of the thing-to-be-sacrificed—one that carries with it a further mystery: with what or Who are we bargaining?

With the future, certainly; with our future self, certainly—but even more deeply, with potential itself, or the spirit of potential.

Furthermore, such bargaining has to be predicated on faith. That is ensured, not merely suggested, by the fact of our ultimate, unbounded and finally irreducible ignorance.

You have to move forward in faith.

After treating countless people with depression, it became clear to me that depression is a symptom. It's a response.
When we're in an abusive relationship, struggle make ends meet, when we have unresolved childhood trauma, when our work environment is dysfunctional- of course depression will exist. When we lose someone, have a crisis, or are in a grief state or course depression will exist.
Our body will go into a freeze state. We will be in survival mode. We're not meant to be ok when we're in environments that unhealthy. This is how our body speaks to us.
A few added things for clarity:
1. There is nothing wrong with you as a person if you have depression symptoms.
2. Nutrition and movement are very important, but (again) if the environment you're in on a regular basis feels like a threat, the body can still go into freeze/depression states.
3. We are spiritual beings. We have spiritual needs to: connect, belong, provide value, and find meaning in life. We will not thrive if we're expect to be emotionless productivity machines.
4. Sadness, times of grief, or just feeling down are a *natural* part of the human experience. Periods of wanting to sleep a lot, to go inwards, and to spend time alone are a *natural* part of the cyclical nature of life.

While some stress can be beneficial and promote resilience, chronic or overwhelming stress can have negative effects on a child's well-being. Providing support, teaching coping skills, and creating a nurturing environment can help children effectively manage stress and build resilience.
