As society progresses, it is our duty to ensure older persons are not left behind. Respect, dignity, and inclusion must be at the heart of how we treat our seniors. Supporting them is not just a responsibility but a privilege, for they once supported us with the same love and dedication.

*Saving Food, Securing Futures*

On this *International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste*, we are reminded that every grain matters and every meal counts. Yet, while millions go to bed hungry, tons of food is wasted each day. This waste is not only an economic issue but also a moral one, for when we waste food, we waste water, energy, labor and the hopes of those in need.

The *Social Welfare Society*, Islamia University of Bahawalpur calls upon all of us to act with responsibility and compassion. From our homes to our markets, from farms to our universities, mindful choices can protect resources, fight hunger and ensure a sustainable future for all.

On World Water Monitoring Day, we recognize the critical importance of protecting one of our most essential resources: water. Regular water quality monitoring helps identify pollution sources, raise awareness, and guide responsible water management.

We also focus on achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6): Clean Water and Sanitation, which aims to ensure access to safe water for all. Despite its importance, millions still face water scarcity and contamination. As water-related challenges grow, it's our shared responsibility to take action—by reducing waste, preventing pollution, and supporting sustainable practices.

On this International Day of Democracy, we are reminded that freedom and fairness survive only when we protect them together.

This is why democracy cannot be complete without SDG 5 – Gender Equality and SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities. From knowing how to stop bleeding, performing CPR, treating burns, managing fractures, to helping someone during choking, these are not just medical steps, they are acts of humanity.A bandage, a breath, a steady hand, sometimes these become the bridge between life and death.
Let us educate, empower and equip ourselves to serve humanity with knowledge and action. Because the greatest gift we can offer is the protection of life itself.

On 11th September 1948, Pakistan lost its founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. His life was a story of determination and sacrifice, through which he gave us the gift of a free homeland. Even after decades, his words—unity, faith, and discipline—remain a guiding light for our nation.

Remembering Quaid is more than recalling history; it is about carrying forward the mission he left behind. He dreamed of a Pakistan built on justice, integrity, and compassion—a place where every citizen could live with dignity and purpose. That dream still challenges us today, reminding us of the responsibility we hold as his nation.
