A ceremony was recently arranged to commemorate completion of over 300 Bone Marrow/ Stem Cell Transplants at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ayaz Mir, Director BMT Program, acknowledged efforts and contribution of the whole multidisciplinary team for achieving this milestone.
Dr. Ayaz Mir along with the core BMT team members; Maj. Gen ® Tariq Mahmood Satti, Consultant Hematologist & BMT Specialist & Dr. Azhar Shafi, Consultant Hematologist, mentioned that Shifa BMT program is the most affordable program in the country which has been managing most challenging cases in the region including high-risk malignancies (Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, and Germ Cell Tumors) and benign hematologic diseases (Aplastic Anemia, Thalassemia, PNH, etc.) by performing Autologous and Allogeneic (fully matched & half matched HAPLO) transplants.
Dr. M.H.Qazi , Chief Executive Officer, congratulated consultants, nursing, medical & paramedical teams, technical and support teams on completion of over 300 BMT transplants with excellent results with success rate comparable to International Standards. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque, Chief Medical Officer, recognized and acknowledged the contribution made by the program pioneers, i.e., Dr. Kamran Rasheed and rest of the team and reiterated to further expand the program to benefit larger patient communities.
Mr. Taimoor Shah, Chief Operating Officer, and executive management also thanked BMT team for transforming lives of patients and their families by providing hope, compassion and quality healthcare.

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in collaboration with National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) and Shifa International Hospital has opened a vaccination center in its premises for the vaccination of the business community, their families and employees.

The center was inaugurated by Mr. Hamza Shafqaat, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, along with Sardar Yasin Ilyas Khan, President ICCI, and Mr. Taimoor Shah, Chief Operating Officer, Shifa Int. Hospital.

Expressing his views, Mr. Hamza Shafqaat congratulated ICCI for opening a vaccination center for its members and appreciated the proactive and dynamic approach of President ICCI. He also thanked Mr. Taimoor Shah, Chief Operating Officer, Shifa Int. Hospital, for supporting the cause to control the spread of coronavirus in the Federal Capital.
