Mirizzi Syndrome is a rare complication of gallstone disease where a gallstone becomes impacted in the cystic duct or neck of the gallbladder, causing external compression of the common hepatic duct (CHD), leading to obstructive jaundice.

Various diseases and pathological changes of the appendix:

1. Acute appendicitis – The appendix is red, swollen, and inflamed due to bacterial infection, with visible vascular congestion.
2. Gangrenous appendicitis – Severe stage of appendicitis where parts of the wall have turned green-black from tissue necrosis, indicating compromised blood supply.
3. F***l concretions in inflamed appendix – Hardened f***l matter (f***liths) inside an inflamed appendix, a common cause of luminal obstruction.
4. Inflamed retrocecal appendix with adhesions – Appendix positioned behind the cecum, showing inflammation and fibrous bands binding it to surrounding structures.
5. Appendiceal abscess – Localized collection of pus and inflammatory tissue around the appendix, often following perforation.
6. Mucocele of appendix – Grossly distended appendix filled with mucus, giving a cyst-like appearance; may result from obstruction of the lumen.
7. Carcinoid of appendix – A small, firm, yellowish tumor in the appendix wall, representing a neuroendocrine tumor.
