UMDC Ignites Medical Journeys: 23rd MBBS Batch Inducted in Grand White Coat Ceremony
The University Medical and Dental College officially ushered in its 23rd batch of MBBS students with a White Coat Ceremony that blended tradition with modern medical ambition. The event served as a formal "welcome to the profession," where students transitioned from aspiring learners to future healers.
The distinguished guests at the ceremony included Prof Dr Akram Malik, Principal UMDC; Prof Dr Shirza Nadeem, Vice Principal UMDC; Prof Dr Amir Ali Chaudhary, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Madinah Teaching Hospital, Faisalabad, Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF, along with esteemed faculty members of UMDC.
The ceremony symbolized the beginning of a transformative academic and professional path. The students donned their white coats, presented by senior students. Led by Prof Dr Akram Malik, Principal of UMDC, the students recited the Medical Oath, committing themselves to ethical practice and the selfless service of humanity.
Beyond the symbolic donning of coats, the orientation featured detailed presentations showcasing the institution’s world-class clinical facilities and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Students were introduced to the extensive resources of Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH), which serves as a premier healthcare hub providing high-volume clinical exposure and mentorship from veteran consultants.
Furthermore, heads of various clinical departments—spanning Surgery, Medicine, and specialized fields like Ophthalmology emphasizing how these advanced facilities and departmental resources will be central to the students' transformative academic journey.
Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector of The University of Faisalabad, delivered a modernized charge to the students:
