Where's the wisdom in wisdom teeth?

We've all been there or know someone who's been there or know someone who knows someone who has a wisdom tooth story!

The problem is obvious - less space leading to incomplete eruption of the wisdom teeth leading to gum and tooth infections

If the tooth isn't a 'usable' tooth, in the sense that you aren't able to use it and it is causing you more harm than benefit, getting it painlessly extracted is the way to go

In very few select cases, we perform an Operculectomy, in which we remove just the gum and the danger averted. In rare cases, the wisdom came out perfectly with no problems around the gum and the neighboring tooth. We can let them be.

Regardless, maintaining proper brushing all the way at the back,wull require conscious effort! Make sure you do that!

Brushing your teeth is an important part of your dental care routine. For a healthy mouth and smile The Dental Lifeline recommends you:

1. Brush your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled brush. The size and shape of your brush should fit your mouth allowing you to reach all areas easily.
2. Replace your toothbrush every three or four months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won’t do a good job of cleaning your teeth.
3. Make sure to use a fluoride toothpaste.
