I feel deeply saddened that despite living in the modern era, we remain so far behind. I continually organize awareness programs regarding mental health issues as part of my treatment initiatives, but it seems there is still a greater need for awareness.
In the village of Khuda Bakhsh Hisbani near Malkani Sharif, a fake faith healer brutally tortured a 30-year-old woman to death under the pretense of exorcising evil spirits.
Sangeeta, a 30-year-old woman and wife of Harish Kolhi, who was suffering from a mental illness, was subjected to brutal treatment by faith healers. They restrained her by her hair and inflicted injuries on her face, leading to her death. Clear marks of torture and injuries are visible on the woman's face.
Upon receiving information, the Khairpur Gamboh police arrested two faith healers and took the woman's body into custody, sending it for a postmortem.
