The Department of Operative Dentistry & Endodontics, School of Dentistry, SZABMU Islamabad held FCPS Part-II TOACS Mock Examination on 19 November 2025. The session strengthened candidates’ diagnostic reasoning, clinical skills, and procedural preparedness in line with CPSP standards. The session was followed by feedback and discussion of every station by the panel of examiners.
Trainees from all over the country participated with great enthusiasm.The event was further enriched by the presence of seasoned FCPS Part-II supervisors from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, whose expertise added great value to the learning experience.
The event was successfully organized under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Nouman Noor, Head of Operative Dentistry & Endodontics, followed by the dedicated teamwork and supervision of Dr. Huma Farid, Associate Professor, and Dr. Muhammad Ahmed, Assistant Professor.
Dr. Haris’s meticulous arrangement of stations made the activity meaningful and impactful.

Topic:- Oral Health and Bleeding Disorders: Bridging Haematology and Dentistry

Good oral health is not a luxury, it’s a necessity for wellbeing of everyone. Through awareness, preventive care and collaborative teamwork, we can empower patients with inherited bleeding disorders to lead healthier, more confident lives.

Congratulations to Dr. Zohra Mansoor resident postgraduate Orthodontist for securing the Third Prize in the E-Poster Competition at the 11th PAO Conference for her research titled:
“Comparison of In-Vivo Failure of Surface Etched Temporary Anchorage Devices (TAD) with that of Un-Etched Temporary Anchorage Devices over an Eight-Month Period: A Split Mouth Randomized Clinical Control Trial.”
This achievement was made under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Owais Khalid Durrani.

The Department of Medical Education, School of Dentistry, and Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) organized a symposium on Breast Cancer Awareness and Sustainability Practices in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.
Themed “Pink Goes Green: Breast Cancer Awareness to Action based on Sustainability Practices.” An awareness walk, a breast cancer awareness session, and an engaging panel discussion led by experts on sustainability practices. A bake sale was also organized, symbolizing community participation and support for the cause.

The interactive session by the guest facilitator, Dr. Zeeshan Baig was highly beneficial, providing faculty with practical insights for developing curriculum-aligned and effective assessments.

Teams of 3–5 can register to pitch and compete for cash prizes, with the campus round winner receiving Rs. 30,000 and a chance to advance to the national level. 📅 Date: 24th June

Community Dentistry Department, School of Dentistry, SZABMU, in collaboration with Colgate Pakistan, organized an Encouragement & Recognition Session to honor outstanding academic achievements. Dr. Fatima Humayune and Dr. Saba Gull, for securing top positions in Community Dentistry and Periodontics in the final professional exams, were awarded medals, certificates, and cash prizes as a token of appreciation by Dr Bilal Ahmed and Dr Farooq Ahmad for their dedication and hard work.

The Department of Orthodontics is conducting a one-day hands-on training workshop for dentists on screening resonance disorders, in collaboration with the Department of Speech & Language Pathology. This interactive session will cover basic screening tools, practical demonstrations, and interdisciplinary approaches. The workshop will be held on 27th May from 8:30 to 11:00 AM in Lecture Hall 04. Open to both general and specialist dentists. No registration fee.
