Types of Cerebral Palsy (CP)

Cerebral palsy is classified based on the type of movement disorder involved:

1️⃣ Spastic Cerebral Palsy (Most Common)

Stiff, tight muscles (spasticity)

Difficulty with smooth movements

May affect one side (hemiplegia), both legs (diplegia), or all four limbs (quadriplegia)

2️⃣ Dyskinetic (Athetoid) Cerebral Palsy

Involuntary, uncontrolled movements

Fluctuating muscle tone (too tight or too loose)

Difficulty with posture and coordination

3️⃣ Ataxic Cerebral Palsy

Problems with balance and depth perception

Unsteady walking

Poor coordination

4️⃣ Mixed Cerebral Palsy

Combination of two or more types (commonly spastic + dyskinetic)

✅ Goals of Physiotherapy in CP

Improve mobility, balance, and coordination

Enhance muscle strength and joint flexibility

Reduce spasticity and stiffness through manual therapy & stretching

Promote independence in daily activities

Prevent secondary complications such as contractures and deformities

✅ Treatment Approaches

Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT): Encourages normal movement patterns

Strength & Balance Training: Builds control for walking and posture

Kinesio Taping & Orthotics: Support weak muscles and improve alignment

Task-Oriented Exercises: Improve functional skills for everyday life

Family Education & Home Programs: Empower caregivers for long-term support

🌟 With consistent therapy and personalized care, children and adults with CP can achieve greater independence, improved mobility, and enhanced quality of life.

🔬 Laser Therapy: Safe, Effective & Non-Invasive
Laser therapy is a modern, evidence-based treatment used across all age groups for various neuromusculoskeletal conditions. It works by stimulating ATP (energy) production in injured tissues, speeding up the natural healing process—without generating heat or harming the tissue.

✅ How It Works
Our body’s cells naturally resist overstimulation. This means therapeutic lasers, when used within safe exposure limits, cannot damage tissue—even with repeated use.

💡 Key Benefits of Laser Therapy
🔹 Reduces Swelling
Decreases inflammation and bruising, restoring joint mobility.

🔹 Relieves Pain
Penetrates deep tissues, promoting regeneration and reducing inflammation.

🔹 Accelerates Healing
Minimizes scar tissue and fibrotic collagen buildup after injuries or surgery.

🔹 Non-Invasive & Safe
Extremely safe—even for repeated or continuous sessions. No damage to healthy tissue.

If you’re experiencing chronic pain, swelling, or post-surgical discomfort, don’t wait!

What causes jumper’s knee?
Jumper’s knee is caused by overuse of your knee joint, such as frequent jumping on hard surfaces.

It’s usually a sports-related injury. It is linked to leg muscle contraction and the force of hitting the ground. This strains your tendon. With repeated stress, your tendon may become inflamed.

If you are facing any issue, get yourself checked now!

Neck Pain and Physiotherapy: Your Path to Lasting Relief

Neck pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal problems today, affecting people of all ages. Whether it’s caused by poor posture, long hours at a desk, muscle strain, injury, or age-related wear and tear, persistent neck pain can interfere with daily activities, sleep, and overall quality of life.

How Physiotherapy Helps

Physiotherapy plays a vital role in both relieving neck pain and preventing its recurrence. Rather than just masking symptoms, physiotherapy focuses on identifying and treating the root cause through:

Targeted strengthening and stretching exercises

Posture correction and ergonomic advice

Manual therapy techniques

Pain management strategies

Education for long-term spine health

With a personalized treatment plan, patients can experience improved mobility, reduced pain, and better function in daily life.

Common Causes of Neck Pain

Understanding the cause is key to effective treatment. Some of the most common reasons include:

Poor posture: Prolonged desk work, mobile phone use, or improper sitting habits

Muscle strain: Overuse, sudden movements, or incorrect sleeping positions

Injuries: Whiplash or sports-related trauma

Degenerative conditions: Cervical spondylosis, arthritis, or disc problems

A thorough physiotherapy assessment helps tailor treatment for safe and lasting recovery.
