Empowering Healthcare Staff Through Effective Communication
I had the privilege of conducting a two-day training program for the staff of Darul Shifa Hospital, focusing on patient interaction, communication essentials, emotional intelligence, empathy, and conflict resolution.
Participants from reception, cashier, patient relations, nursing, OPD assistance, phlebotomy, pharmacy, and complaint handling engaged in interactive sessions, worksheets, and scenario-based exercises designed to:
✅ Strengthen verbal and non-verbal communication
✅ Enhance empathy and rapport with patients
✅ Handle challenging situations and patient complaints professionally
✅ Cultivate politeness, courtesy, and a professional tone
Impact:
By the end of the sessions, staff reported higher confidence in handling patient interactions, improved teamwork, and a deeper understanding of patient-centered care.
This training was a part of our continuous effort to create a compassionate, respectful, and effective hospital environment.
