Discussed the preparation of three important upcoming global & regional events SUN Global Gathering 2024, & Finance Event including the meeting with SUN Coordinator Assistant Secretary General United Nations with SUN regional team. Clear next steps agreed to make sure that we get maximum of it.

Series of consultations as part of the landscape analysis along with the global team of Capacity for Nutrition (C4N), SMS Geneva with different nutrition sensitive departments in KP Province regarding the establishment of National Multi-sectoral Nutrition Management Information System/Dashboard at SUN Secretariat, Nutrition Section, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives. It was extremely encouraging to see the ownership and commitment of different departments regarding the need of nutrition sensitive indicators development. More importantly their willingness to integrate into their sectoral Management information systems (MIS’s) and linking with the DashBoard to be established at SUN/Nutrition Section, Ministry of Planning. This is going to be the first Multi-sectoral Dashboard in Pakistan and hub for the nutrition data for evidence base policy planning and programme development. Thanks to GIZ,German International Cooperation, World Food Programme and UNICEF Pakistan for their support. Thanks to the SUN KP team for their tremendous support.

Chief Nutrition/ SUN Focal Point Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives 🇵🇰 held meeting with the delegation comprising of GAIN Pakistan, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition Denmark🇩🇰, GAIN Kenya🇰🇪, Arla Food Ingredients (AFI) Denmark, SUN Business Network Pakistan (SBN, Pakistan) and the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) provided a comprehensive debrief on their visit. Discussions centred on the pivotal role of the Business Network (SBN) and its impact on transforming Pakistan's food systems.
During the dialogue, the SUN Focal Point affirmed governments to supporting future collaborations, emphasizing the significance of partnerships in achieving collective objectives. Notably, explicit backing was pledged for ongoing initiatives “Whey2Value” and “Nutrient Enriched Fruit bars”. This assurance underscores a shared dedication to innovation and sustainability in tackling food-related challenges.
The collaborative efforts between GAIN, AFI, DI, and other stakeholders exemplify a steadfast commitment to driving positive change and fostering resilience within Pakistan's food . Through ongoing collaboration and support from key players, SBN continues to play a vital role in shaping a more sustainable and nourishing future for the nation.
