Training session at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences
In 2018, the Supreme Court of Pakistan took suo motu action to address the challenges of rapid population growth, recommending initiatives such as age-appropriate Life Skills-Based Education, Population Studies in educational institutions, and mandatory pre-marital family planning counseling for Nikah registration. In response, the National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH) and the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN) developed Bakhabar Noujawan (Well-Informed Youth). This reproductive health course provides evidence-based information for young adults aged 15-29. Aligned with Pakistan’s commitments to the SDGs, FP2030, and ICPD25, the course has been approved by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination (MoNHSR&C). Its goal is to empower youth with knowledge to make informed decisions and contribute as responsible members of their communities.
