We present you case of a Complex Trauma. This 30 year old gentleman came to us with multi fragmentary open fracture of Tibia and fibula. There were three main fractures at proximal 1/3rd, distal 1/3rd and in the middle along with an open wound. We used minimally invasive approach for quicker rehab and better recovery. Closed reduction was done, intra medullary nailing was introduced via locking system. His fractures are healed and patient can perform his normal day to day activities with ease. He is doing full weight bearing mobilisation. That’s an excellent outcome and it’s proven if you treat complex injuries with simple approach on time, it gives an excellent post operative results.

This 7 year old girl came to us with congenital scoliosis and progressive deterioration over last two years on 6 monthly radiographs. In this case, at a very early age of 7 curve was increasing in magnitude to the level where her heart and lung functions were started getting compromised. Generally similar surgical procedures are performed when patient reaches adolescence mostly in their early teens so that we can attain maximum correction and can fuse the curve. We can’t fuse patient at her age as it can halt growth of axial skeleton. We therefore used a conventional growing rod system to correct curve and stop scoliosis progression. Her curve is spanned by 2 growing rods with dynamo to allow growth of her spine as normal. When her spine will reach its maximum length, we will remove the temporary rods and screws and perform a definitive spinal fusion for the scoliosis and stabilise the spine (If need be).

Our patient is a 7 year old kid, who has very aggressive congenital scoliosis. When he came to our clinic his cob angle was around 130-140 degrees or even more with rotation. Taking his age and aggressive nature of his disease into consideration, we decided to perform a deformity correction surgery on him with conventional growing rods. We can see excellent results of surgery, his shoulders are levelled now, his prominent rib hump is gone, his posture is so much better and he can walk with ease. Now a minor procedure of growing rod extension would be done every 6-9 months and he will get more correction every time.
