Eid ul Adha is one of the most cherished celebrations in Pakistan, bringing families together for prayer, Qurbani, meals, and gatherings. While the festive atmosphere is joyful, patients suffering from chronic lung diseases often notice worsening breathing symptoms during Eid because of increased smoke exposure, dust, animal handling, outdoor pollution, and physical exhaustion.
For patients with Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, chronic allergies, or sleep-related breathing disorders, taking a few extra precautions during Eid ul Adha can make a major difference.
Many patients experience increased coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, allergy symptoms, or breathlessness during the Eid holidays — especially in crowded urban environments such as Karachi where smoke, dust, traffic pollution, and animal exposure can become significantly higher during Qurbani days.
The good news is that most patients with lung disease can continue enjoying Eid safely when they understand their triggers and plan ahead.
