A 63-year-old patient, known case of squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue, presented with contralateral cervical lymphadenopathy.
Evaluation revealed a large metastatic lymph node at Level III and IV with extracapsular extension, involving the sternocleidomastoid muscle and internal jugular vein.
The patient underwent radical neck dissection with removal of involved lymph nodes, sternocleidomastoid muscle, and internal jugular vein.
The procedure was completed successfully.
The patient was referred for further oncological management including adjuvant therapy.
