Dr. Ali Raza Kandhro, Provincial Treatment Co-ordinator CDC-1 HIV/AIDS Sindh, visited the ART Center at Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and held a detailed discussion with Medical Superintendent Dr. Abdul Wajid Rajput and Consultant Dr. Muneeba regarding the ongoing services for People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and monitored treatment coordination. The purpose of the visit is to focus on strategies to further improve treatment outcomes, strengthen coordination, and ensure the provision of the best possible care to PLHIV.

We honour his remarkable contributions and mourn the loss of a true champion in the fight against HIV/AIDS. On 8th August 2025, "Honorable Vice Chancellor, SMBBMU, Prof. Dr. Nusrat Shah, visited the HIV Treatment & Support Centre, Ratodero, facilitated by ART Centre Incharge Dr. Nadir Soomro and his dedicated team. During the visit, the Vice Chancellor met with children and women living with HIV, reviewed service delivery, and emphasized the importance of research in HIV care. Medical and Screening camp at the Central Prison and Correctional Facility Karachi
On 21 July 2025, under the special guidance and instructions of the worthy Additional Director, CDC-I, Dr. Kanwal Mustafa, a successful medical and screening camp was organized at the Central Prison and Correctional Facility, Karachi. The CDC-1 team, led by Dr. Ghulam Ali Bozdar (Deputy Director, CDC-1) and Dr. Ali Raza Kandro (PTC CDC-1), along with Ahsan Hayat Kazi (Surveillance Supervisor) and dedicated support officers—Shahvaiz Moiz, Nabeel Mughal, Sayed Munawar Shah, Mahesh, Abdul Hakeem, and other staff—provided essential health services to inmates.
The effort was joined by Dr. Zahid Hussain Solangi (DHO East), Dr. Sher Khan Junejo (ADHO East), CDC-2 team, Civil Hospital staff, representatives from Director Health Services Karachi, and the prison's own medical and paramedic teams.

A Mega Medical and Screening Camp was organized in the district of Khairpur Mirs, on 10th & 11th June 2025, under the directives of the Honorable Health
Minister, Government of Sindh, In compliance with the vision and directives of the Honorable Minister for Health and Population Welfare, Sindh, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho Sahiba, and under the able guidance of Mr. Rehan Iqbal Baloch Sahib, Secretary Health, Government of Sindh.
This initiative was organized collaboratively by the Communicable Disease Control (CDC),
Vector-Borne Disease Program (VBD), and the District Health Office Khairpur, with strategic
supervision and leadership by:

The 28th Provincial TB-HIV Collaborative Meeting was held at the Global Fund SR Office, Karachi, and was attended by Dr. Ghulam Ali Bozdar, Deputy Director CDC-I HIV/AIDS, Dr Sameera Hiader ART Center Civil Hospital Karachi, Dr Sasui Provincial Coordinator SS, Syed Talha Waqar DEO, along with other stakeholders.
The Additional Director, Dr Samreen Qureshi, CDC-III TB Control Program, chaired the meeting and focused on reviewing the situational analysis of TB-HIV collaboration. Discussions centered on the assessment of parallel data systems and strategies to enhance the coordination of TB-HIV activities, with the goal of maximizing patient benefit, strong coordination, strenghen the integrated TB BMU services and improving service delivery of CDC-I & CDC-III, across the province.

Dr. Ghulam Ali Bozdar, Deputy Director CDC-1 HIV/AIDS Sindh, and Dr. Sajid Hussain, Incharge ART Center JSMU, visited the Central Lab at JPMC Karachi. The visit, facilitated by Ms. Amtul Quddos Latif, incharge of ventral lab at jpmc, aimed to assess HIV/AIDS diagnostic services and strengthen coordination between the ART Center and the laboratory. Key discussions focused on enhancing diagnostic capacity, reducing turnaround time, and addressing quick services. Recommendations included improved service integration and resource optimization. The visit reinforced commitment to strengthening HIV/AIDS screening services through collaborative efforts and strategic improvements.
