Two-day joint visit by WHO team Dr pasha ,Dr Atif and on direction of Dr kanwal Mustfa, Additional directer CDC-1 HIV/AIDS Sindh, Health Department govt sindh , Dr Ghulam Ali Bozdar, Deputy Director CDC-1 HIV/AIDS, sindh across major hospitals in Karachi sindh Valika Hospital , SIDH, Indus & Civil Hospital karachi to review HIV screening, ART services, IPC practices, and community risk factors. Enhanced screening and awareness are enabling early case identification — a positive step toward effective HIV prevention and control. Multisectoral coordination and strict regulation remain key to breaking the transmission chain.

On the directives of the Additional Director, Dr Kanwal Mustafa, CDC-I HIV AIDS, Health Department, Government of Sindh, Dr Ali Raza Kandhro, Provincial Treatment Coordinator CDC I HIV AIDS, visited JPMC along with Dr Mohammad Umair Malik, National Treatment Coordinator NACP.
A meeting was held with the Executive Director JPMC, Dr Khalid Sher, DD Dr Yahya Tunio, Lab Incharge, Dr Sajid, ART Centre Incharge, and Pathologist Dr Amtul. The discussion focused on the mechanism and initiation of the Cobas 5800 system for HIV PCR services for Southern Sindh.

A high-level meeting on the HIV situation in Hyderabad Sindh, was held under the leadership of the Honorable Health Minister, Dr. Azra Pechuho, to review the ongoing crisis and the provincial response.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Waqar, Director General of Health Sindh; Dr. Ahsan Qavi, CEO Sindh Healthcare Commission; Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Dharejo, Deputy DG; Dr. Kanwal Mustafa, Additional Director CDC-I, along with her CDC-I team, representatives from SBTA; and DHO, who participated virtually.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordination, improving service delivery, and enhancing the collective response toward controlling HIV.

Dr Bozdar emphasized and addressed the services response of CDC-1, Directorate General Health Services sindh, across the province of sindh, and discussed the challenges and overcome strategic path way.

World AIDS Day 2025 Observance at NICH Karachi

National Institute of Child Health (NICH) Karachi organized an activity in observance of World AIDS Day 2025, under the global theme “Overcoming Disruption: Transforming the AIDS Response – Rethink, Rebuild, Rise.”

The event was attended by Dr. Nasir Sadal, Director NICH, and Dr. Wajid, Assistant Professor, Infectious Diseases, NICH, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, on behalf of the Additional Director, Respected Dr Kanwal Mustafa, Dr. Ghulam Ali Bozdar, Deputy Director CDC-1 HIV/AIDS Sindh.

سیمینار کا انعقاد

کراچی ورلڈ ایڈز ڈے آج کراچی میں سی ڈی سی-1 (ایچ آئی وی/ایڈز)، محکمہ صحت حکومتِ سندھ کی جانب سے آگاہی واک اور سیمینار کے انعقاد کے ساتھ منایا گیا، جس کا مقصد تشخیص، علاج اور عوامی آگہی کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرنا تھا تاکہ ایچ آئی وی/ایڈز کے خلاف جدوجہد کو مضبوط بنایا جا سکے۔ یہ پروگرام وزیرِ صحت سندھ ڈاکٹر عذرا فضل پیچوہو، سیکریٹری صحت ریحان اقبال بلوچ کی ہدایات اور ڈپٹی ڈی جی سی ڈی سی ڈاکٹر ذوالفقار علی دھاریجو اور ڈاکٹر کنول مصطفیٰ (ایڈیشنل ڈائریکٹر سی ڈی سی ون) کی نگرانی میں، محکمہ صحت کے دیگر سینئر حکام کے تعاون سے منعقد ہوا۔ واک کے انتظامات اور کوآرڈی نیشن ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر سی ڈی سی ون، ڈاکٹر غلام علی بوزدار کی زیرِ نگرانی کیے گئے۔ آگاہی واک میں صحت کے ماہرین، نرسنگ طلبہ و طالبات، سول سوسائٹی، میڈیا سے تعلق رکھنے والے افراد اور دیگر نے بڑی تعداد میں شرکت کی۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر کنول مصطفیٰ نے میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ورلڈ ایڈز ڈے یہ یاد دہانی کراتا ہے کہ بروقت ٹیسٹنگ اور مناسب علاج زندگی بچا سکتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سندھ میں ایچ آئی وی کے بہتر ردِ عمل کیلئے اے آر ٹی سینٹرز، ہیلتھ سروسز کے اداروں اور سی بی اوز کے ساتھ ہم آہنگی کو مزید فروغ دیا جا رہا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ خاموشی اس مرض کی سب سے بڑی رکاوٹیں ہیں جنہیں کمیونٹی انگیجمنٹ، آگاہی مہمات اور اسکریننگ تک بہتر رسائی کے ذریعے دور کرنا ضروری ہے۔ ڈاکٹر غلام علی بوزدار نے کہا کہ سی ڈی سی ون کی یہ کاوش سندھ حکومت کی ترجیح کی عکاسی کرتی ہے، جس کا مقصد عوامی آگہی مہمات اور بہتر ہیلتھ سروسز کے ذریعے ایچ آئی وی پر مؤثر کنٹرول حاصل کرنا ہے۔ انہوں نے زور دیا کہ ملک میں ایسے طبقات کو نظر انداز نہیں کیا جا سکتا جو اس مرض کے خطرے سے دوچار ہیں، اور تمام محکموں، صحت کے ماہرین اور میڈیا کو مل کر کام کرنا ہوگا تاکہ آگاہی کے پیغامات معاشرے کی ہر سطح تک پہنچ سکیں۔ دیگر شرکاء میں ڈاکٹر علی رضا کاندھڑو (PTC CDC-I)، ڈاکٹر سسوئی وادھو (PC BISP)، کراچی ڈویژن کے اے آر ٹی سینٹرز کے انچارجز، اور کمیونٹی بیسڈ آرگنائزیشنز کے نمائندے کامران عبداللہ (ہمراز)، ڈاکٹر غوث بخش ملک (نئی زندگی ٹرسٹ) اور ڈاکٹر مبارک (بریج کنسلٹنٹس فاؤنڈیشن) شامل تھے۔ نرسنگ کالجز کی فیکلٹی اور طلبہ و طالبات نے بھی بھرپور شرکت کی، جن میں پرنسپل کالج آف نرسنگ رُتھ فاؤ سول اسپتال کراچی خیرالنساء خان. کراچی پریس کلب میں آگاہی سیمینار منعقد کیا گیا

On December 1st, 2025, World AIDS Day
The ART Centre at Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas organized a rally to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Pir Ghulam Nabi Shah, Civil Surgeon, and Dr. Naveen, Focal Person for HIV/AIDS Mirpurkhas. The rally also saw active participation from members of the NAI Zindagi team, TB Team , Dr. Iqra Rehman, Incharge of the ART Centre, and the entire team of ART Centre.

The event aimed to promote awareness and reduce stigma associated with HIV/AIDS, reinforcing the commitment of the healthcare community to combating the epidemic.

December 1st, 2025 - World AIDS Day was marked with a walk organized at ART Center, Khairpur. The event was attended by MS Dr. Masroor Zia Shah, other doctors, nursing staff, and other personnel. Representatives from Nai Zindagi, surveillance teams, media friends, and other staff members also participated. The walk aimed to raise awareness about the severity of AIDS, focusing on HIV transmission, prevention, and treatment options, to dispel myths and misconceptions about HIV/AIDS. The awareness program promoted a supportive environment for those affected, playing a crucial role in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
