๐ข *Syria Crisis: Lives at Risk as Conflict Escalates*
The conflict in Syria has intensified, displacing hundreds of thousands and putting *1.6 million people at immediate risk.* Essential services like hospitals, bakeries, and water supply have been suspended, leaving families in urgent need of help.
*The Humanitarian Crisis*
๐น 12.9 million people are food insecure, with over 3 million severely affected.
๐น Food prices have skyrocketed due to supply chain disruptions and panic buying.
๐น Families are selling assets, sending children to work, and even scavenging for food to survive.
*WFPโs Response in Syria*
โข This year, WFP has already assisted over 1 million people with lifesaving food aid across Syria.
โข In the past two weeks, WFP scaled up its operations, providing ready-to-eat rations, food baskets, and hot meals to nearly 70,000 displaced people in hard-hit areas, including Homs, Aleppo, Raqqa, and Al-Hasakah.
โข We are working tirelessly to negotiate safe supply corridors and continue targeted emergency food assistance.
