An intensive care unit (ICU), also known as an intensive therapy unit or intensive treatment unit (ITU) or critical care unit (CCU), is a special department of a hospital or health care facility that provides intensive treatment medicine.
Intensive care units(ICU) cater to patients with severe or life-threatening illnesses and injuries, which require constant care, close supervision from life support equipment and medication in order to ensure normal bodily functions.
They are staffed by highly trained Doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists who specialize in caring for critically ill patients. ICUs are also distinguished from hospital wards by a higher staff-to-patient ratio and to access to advanced medical resources and equipment that is not routinely available elsewhere.
Common conditions that are treated within ICUs include acute respiratory distress syndrome,Cardiac(MI),after major trauma,severe burns,Major surgeries and Many other life-threatening conditions Depending on indications.
Access to critical care is a crucial component of healthcare in this critical period and Lack of critical care could be catastrophic for the region.
The pandemic diseases could be disastrous as fragile and almost non-existent healthcare systems in the region. absence of critical care facilities might lead to a devastating loss of life's in the regional community.
There is no challange of resource or budget scarcity in the region but poor planning_poor leadership_abuse of public budget for private gains and wasting for unnecessary Luxury V8 Landcruisers.
